About

Jeroen Kortekaas (1991, NL) is an artist working at the intersection of sculpture, philosophy, and contemplative inquiry. His practice explores the between where self and world, nature and technology, autonomy and heteronomy meet.
Using the familiar language of infrastructure — signal lights, networks, industrial materials — he transforms symbols of univocal order into waystations where meaning wavers and new forms of relation become possible. The work resonates with the idea of "machinic animism," a condition of distributed agency where objects participate in worlds rather than merely furnishing them.
His recent work turns toward the intimacy between art, philosophy, and religion, exploring how genuine understanding emerges through sustained encounter with mystery rather than through conceptual mastery.
